Hi, could anyone tell me if you just use the normal children's paints (i.e. ELC) for this activity please? It's just we're off to the garden centre later to get some pots and bulbs and I don't want the painting side of it not to work.
Thanks.

I cut strips of paper get kiddies to paint/decorate them then selotape the art around the pot.

I used childrens paints but varnished it with craft varnish after as the paint would wash off, handy though if you make a mistake

Well not sure what to do now! Nowhere in our town sells craft things so no chance of getting any varnish today.

Just to let you know, I called a craft shop in a town nearby who advised me that watered down PVA works the same. Panic over!

I used normal kids paint and then painted over with white PVA. it dries clear and has the same sealning effect as varnish :D

We used used normal poster paints and I vanished them with clear vanish borrowed from my dad.:)

Turned out to be quite cheap in the end, pots were 69p from garden centre and I got my daisy plants for 50 each.:)

I'm not sure it would work on plastic.

You'd want something porous or the paint would slide off. :D

I get our pots from Wilkinson, really cheap.

We use normal poster paints and then I either use clear varnish or PVA glue as a varnish.

Thanks for the GREAT idea. I am going to my local garden center for my after school kids. I now need some links to EYFS for this project, any ideas
