Tax year 2008-9 When did it start

I've got a spreadsheet and I'm filling it in however I can't work out when the 2008-9 tax year started. The 6th April was a sunday so does that count?

i do monday to monday

1st - 4th were added onto the previous financial year so mine starts on 7th april 2008 and runs through till 31st march 2009

lol, i did that the first year and got into a right pickle

now I do it monthly on the pc but make notes in a notebook when needed so i have it listed ready to add.
