I am currently doing the DHC... and tbh have been struggling doing it, with minding full-time and having a life... you know the story, many of you have this too ;)

I got a letter from the borough inviting me to an evening about starting an NVQ3...?

What is the difference btwn the two courses... and if I complete the DHC do I need to do the NVQ3 too for the levels expected of us in the coming years?

I am rather confused by the difference btwn the two courses? :(

Can anyone explain?

i was toldif you do the dhc to a level three then you don't have to do the nvq 3 you choose on or the other they are the same level qualification just dhc is base on childminding and the nvq is for all settings

after you donw dhc level 3 you can move on to level 4 or do foundation degree

both are a level 3, the DHC is specific to homebased childcare - ie childminding (think nannies can do it as well)

the nvq 3 is a more generic, transferable qualification. It is more in-depth.
