Question about messy play resources

Hi everyone, I have just registered and am new here - 1st post!!
Wow what a fantastic forum, I have already learnt lots about what extra things I need to do(!!)

I have a question for you all - I have been looking through the activity threads at all your amazing activity ideas. I was just wondering when you do messy play with food such as oats, rainbow rice, lentils, etc, do you throw away after one use or keep it and if so for how long? I have a 3 year old who just comes to me on Fridays 9-3 and it seems a waste to throw the whole lot away after just 1 day.

With rice and dried food I tend to store it in a sealed container for the next week unless its been on the floor etc.

With gloop and gelibath I usually just leave it out for a week or two and then throw it.
