What a lovely idea!!! I was thinking of doing something like this on a card but never thought to use canvas! I might pinch your idea too if you don't mind!!!

If the older ones did it, would they put their foot through the canvas if they trod on it?

if they were heavy they may. You could use fingertips for small leaves instead.

So glad you all like it :D . I often struggle for ideas for the babies and thought this was something nice that the mummies could keep

At the school toddler group today the children did hand prints with fabric paint on cream cushions from Primark. I imagine they were really cheap. My own children 7mths, 4yrs and 5yrs all put their handprint on mine.

Thats such a great idea, looks beautiful! I too would have loved to have recieved one when mine were babies.

Do you think it would be ok to do with my newbie 5 month old on Monday, I have only got her for 2 hours and its only her seconed time being left?? I do think her mum would love it.

That's really lovely.

What sort of paint do you use? I like the cushion idea as well & wonder what sort of paint you would use for that.

That looks good. I done just the hands and feet at xmas on canvas. Wish i had done it in a flower shape. I can do that on the babys card. Parents loved them one said it was her best present. Her ds leaves this week as she is going on maternity leave. I'm going to give her my last two canvas so she can do one of baby and then both together.

I love this sort of thing. I got a largeish canvas a few years ago and done one with my son and its my fave pic. My neighbour done one where dad done feet then mum, then baby it looks great.

Its a brilliant idea, they look lovely. I've bought some card and envelopes and we are going to do them with my 17mth old and 1yr old Thurs/Fri and hope they dry in time for them to take them home.
