I have this marked down to do today, but it said you needed to put them in egg boxes & I don;t have any :( What else do you think I could use?

I'm chitting! :clapping:

Just put them on a plate, or a shallow cardboard box. I think the idea of the egg box is to help them stay the right way up, with the shoots pointing upwards.

Our potatoes for our allotment have been chiiting for a couple of weeks now. We have them on an old towel so thety do not roll about.

I planted cauli seedlings just over a week ago and they are already coming up.

Roll on warm summer days pottering on the plot.

We are decorating egg boxes after school and then the potatoes will be chitting! :D

Planted tomatoes yesturday, kiddies doing pansys and pertunias (i think) Got strawberry seeds in the freezer ( THATS WHAT IT SAID ON THE BOX  )

I'm pretty much a novice and look forward to something actually growing here! Managed beetroot last year.

chit, chit, chit, chit, chitting.... grow a little spud for me! :D

What is chitting?

Think its letting the roots grow hard on the potatoe ready to plant.

Well I felt a little left out as I didn't get a free pack:( Anyway we have been to the garden centre this morning and have bought some (really cheap) with the bags to grow them in so they don't take over my veggie patch. Mine are now chitting away as we speak:D
