Well the statistics were right!! :)

After 10 calls about my service number 9 called back, we had a (rather long) meeting and she wanted to sign contracts there and then.

Hi all and thanks for all the nice comments. :)

Well first week is over, I had a great time with the little one. He got on great with my little one and seemed to take well to me. On Thursday morning when I arrived to pick him up, he put his arms up to me and gave me the biggest smile. We joined a childminding toddlar group on Wedneday which was good, I met some other childminders and most will be attending dhc with me, and I met distrct co-ordinator who said she han't had my details from ofsted yet, but will sort out a support childminder for me.

I am knackered though as I didn't sleep well last weekend due to nerves, excitment etc and every day I was getting up at 5 with hubby to make sure I didn't over sleep. lol Theb pushing a heavy double pushchair up the hill (3 days on snow and ice) so I am resting today.

I do have one small concern regarding the fees / contract. I have the little boy 5 mornings a week. Term time as mum works in a school nursery. She however will and is paying for the space so unles I am not working the fee is the same every week. She understands this as she worked in a day nursery before and knows how this works.
But I collect and drop the child off. I agreed with the parents at time of contract that if they needed me to have him in any school holidays I would as they are paying for his space. I didn't say as it hadn't crossed my mind that I may not be able to pick up and drop home in holidays. I have a 5 seater car and 3 kids of my own and another 3 spaces that I would like to fill so I couldn't do the collection. My hubby says just see how it goes and maybe your mum can watch ours while you go out wityh minded kids. It is worrying me a little, but feb half term she is away all week so I don't really need to worry about this till Easter.

You learn by your mistakes in future I not agree to pick up and drop off lol

Glad to hear that your first week went well.

Why don't you talk to parent about holidays? As contract is term time only inform parent that you can only do collection/drop off during term time weeks. Don't give yourself unnecessary hassle - you'll regret it!!

Thats the problem, its not a term time contract, I decided I couldn't afford to do term time only, as it is very unlikely I'd be able to fill school holiday only spaces to under 5's.
I do not charge for the collection and drop of in contracted hours.
I just need to think this through a little more before I speak to parents. Plus he is my only one at the moment.

Sorry! I misread your message - oops!
I'm sure if you explain situation to mum she will understand. Would it be a big hassle for her to drop off and collect from you?
