I've been working on my SEF and needed to refer back to my complaints policy. When I dug it out of my file, I realised it referred to the National Standards.

Is it still ok to mention the National Standards as I thought we couldn't once the EYFS came into effect?

When I went over to the NCMA website to have a look at their sample complaints policy, it also mentions the Nat. Standards.

Should I be mentioning the Nat. Standards or not?

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

NCMA are being a bit slow on the uptake and haven't as yet updated their sample policies.

Do not refer to National Standards - it is the EYFS as you say. In the EYFS pack it gives guidance for the complaints procedure (haven't got my pack to hand - its been put away for at least a week:clapping: sorry)

There are 2 complaints requirements depending on which register you are referring to...

There's the Eyfs complaints requirements here -

http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/eyfs/site/requirements/welfare/safeguarding/index.htm

And the Childcare register complaints requirements here (2nd link) -

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=childcare+register+complaints&meta=

Hope this helps! :D

Thank you :)

I'll re-write my policy before I start back on Jan 5th.
