I wouldn't have thought we would have to fill one in, in what respect are you thinking? I don't think I do anything that is hazardous to health (although my moms cooking comes close, lol)

I have a file that I am putting together with all the relevant COSHH info for the cleaning products etc I use.

Some are available online, others you have to contact the company for and they will send them to you.

Does it have to be the specific product i.e right price liquid toilet cleaner or can it just be liquid toliet cleaner?

I've got mine on my list of things to do next week when the little ones are away.

I will update all my current ones and as I've gone a lot greener recently I'm hoping it will be an easier job.

COSHH stands for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and includes everything from Fairy Liquid to Tippex to toothpaste... anything with a hazard sticker on it...

You think about what it contains, how it is hazardous, where it is stored and how it is kept out of sight and reach of children.

Hth :D

Is this a requirement or just an extra? I don't actually have anything out anyway.

Dunno tbh ... it's just something I've always done.

I remember when social services first came round 14 years ago they gave me a leaflet about it - which is still in my file

OMG!!!

Surely this is paper work for paperwork sake!!!!

So long as you buy everything from reputable companies and use your common sense then everything is safe.

I am a qualified chemist and in my previous job as a chemist I used to write coshh assessments on all our chemicals.

Surely as childminders so long as we look at the warnings on the back we are covered. Anything with a warning goes in my top cupboard, so out of sight and reach. Art supplies only bought from reputable companies and labelled safe for children.

I just think many childminders are being frightened off by the paperwork for EYFS, does this not just give them something to worry about!!

Sounds good to me :D

To be honest anything like this should be locked away and not accessable to children and SHOULD they get hold of it and end up at A&E I would just take the bottle with me so like Marian its at the very very bottom of my to do list.
