Not sure what you mean??

The ones on Bromley are as good a place as any to start - just be careful not to think you need them all...

Ahhhh! I see what you mean.

I just pull out say 3 lines from each policy / procedure... the lines I consider most important.

So for example, with fees policy I say, 'This policy links with the Contract drawn up between the childminder and parents. It states what will happen in the case of non-payment by the parent'; and for Confidentiality I say, 'This policy states the relevant requirements for childminders relating to confidentiality of information and how it is shared between minders, children's families, other settings and professionals as appropriate. It also includes details about storing information.'

It's about thinking inclusively... if you had a non-English speaking family come to see you or someone who struggled to read, your full policies would be wasted on them. This way you would be able to communicate the important facts without the waffle.

Does that help? :D
