Hi , i'm trying to write out my policies and i've been putting down Parents/Guardians, but is it best to say Parents/carers?
I'm only asking as then i get confused about confidentiality, because really only the Parents/Guardians could have any info.
Carers could be anyone, like grandparents, aunties or uncles but they won't have legal rights to any info.
Arrghh! just want to write my policies but i suppose if i put down Parent/Guardian then does that mean i can't talk to grandparents?

You can only talk to the person that has signed the contract with you regarding the child (unless it is a care worker case) unless you have written consent from the parent to talk to someone else.

I have a cover sheet ... part of it explains that I use the word 'parent' to cover parents, guardians and those with legal responsibility for the child :D
