The lady at my pre-reg briefing said that if, when Ofsted came to visit, I had no mindees then the most i could get was 'satisfactory'. I have one guaranteed mindee for when I am registered, who will be 11 months old and part-time. What if by then he is still my only mindee, and Ofsted come on one of the days he is not there? Will I still only be able to get 'satisfactory'?

I think they have changed it and make syre they now inspect when a child is there. They ring you before hand anyway to ask what days you will be unavailable so they should only come when you have a child - theorhetically anyway:rolleyes: :)

Ofsted will ask you what days you are minding and come on that day. Would be unfair not to!

It is true you will only get satisfactory but they will ty to set the inspection to when you have children whenever possible. :)

Thanks for your answers. So, so long as I make sure he's there I can get better than satisfactory even with just him (and my daughter) there?

I think so, just ask if you can borrow him.Tell the parents it's to get him use to you and to appease(thats a bit word for me) Ofsted.:)
