hi i was curious to know what other childminders do or would do if a contract says childrens holidays require half retainer fees and bank holidays are full fees. for example on good friday would a parent pay full or half?

For me it depends whether a bank holiday falls on a contracted day.

If the child normally comes on a friday and that is a bank holiday then i would charge in full

If a child was away for a whole week and the contract said half fees then I would only charge half fees even if the friday was a bank holiday but you would be within your rights to charge half fee mon to thurs and full fee on fri because that is what it says on your contract.

Hope that helps
