I'm trying to organise my Christmas theme and I can't decide what to do. Do you do a Nativity theme or do you do Christmas Trees, Santa etc? Perhaps I should do both

I never focus on any particular area of crimbo just all of it, and the more glitter used the better.............parents love me! We start the last week in Nov with advents etc then carry on from there. Looking for some different crafts this year though!

How do you make advent calendars? Are they easy to make?

You could use small envelopes with the numbers on stuck on a large board.

I'd cover the board with christmas wrapping paper, get the children to decorate and number the envelopes and stick them on the board then put a chocolate coin or small pressie in each envelope.

I won't do anything remotely religious - just concentrate on the fun and giving side of it.

The santa's beard advent is always one of my fav's as the children have to add to it everyday rather than chocolate/ sweet ones etc! I think thats on DLTK or enchanted learning

We make paper chains 24 loops and attach them to a card with this poem

December 1st until Christmas
Is the longest time of the year.
It seems as though old Santa
Never will appear.
How many days until Christmas?
It's mighty hard to count.
So this little chain of links
Will tell you the exact amount.

I get the kids to paint a4 paper with red, green, gold paint and then cut them up for the loops.

Kids loved it last year
