farm activity ideas please

hi

i am looking at farm animals with the children and i'm stuck for craft ideas to do with them.

the children are aged 1 - 3 years.

I've done masks, painting, sticking, colouring pictures, chicks out of egg cups.


Any ideas greatly appreciated

Farm yard snap, farm picture pairs, making sheep from cotton wool, use their hands as the legs cover the palm in cotton wool.Sure someone posted these a while ago.

Music stories all to do with farms are around in abundance.

Give each child that is old enough to do it a card with the picture and sound of a farm animal, help the younger ones. They have to act like and make the noise of their animal and the other guess which animal, with larger groups the animals are in pairs and the kids have to find their other animal that is the same as them ifyswim???

Paint card cut out animals stick onto lolipop sticks and use as props for stories or Old Mac Donald.

ELC website has activity animal pairs, match animal to home, sounds. games suitable for young ones, http://www.elc.co.uk/kids/

Animals in sand tray or use sredded paper/straw.

Collect some different size pictures and do large, medium, small with them.

Salt-doh animals; mine have cut out animals cooked them until very hard then painted them. They will keep for quite awhile but can go mouldy.

Thet can make sheep with their handprint. Upside downy, the thumb is the head and the 4 fongers are the legs, paint those black and then fill in big bit of hand with cottom wool. Pop on soome googly eyes and there ya go. In fact, I'm sure I got this idea from someone on this forum.:idea: Only we did spring lamb pictures. Versatile!
