Child Protection policy.

Hi

How do you let your mindees know about the protection policy, I give the parents a copy in their pack but am not sure how to let the mindees know. Its a Inspection Focus area and I'm not sure how to do that to be honest, especially if they are 4.

When you put a baby in the buggy, you will say somehting like ... let's do up your straps to keep you safe...

When you put children in the car you say similar things...

When you are out walking you are continually warning children to stay close, hold on, not talk to strangers, avoid unknown animals etc...

No way you can sit a 4 year old down and implicitly explain the ins and outs of your safeguarding policy, but you can show them by your words and actions how to be safe and keep themselves safe.
