Hi
Just trying to put my risk assessments down into black and white (I do them mentally every time we go out)
This one is for the local park (2 streets away), can somebody/some people please have a quick look and see if I've made any glaring errors/missed anything out.
I've tried to do it for all under eights on one sheet rather than do one for the babies and one for the after school kiddies, does it work alright or should I do it separately?
Any advice appreciated as always, many thanks :)
RISK ASSESSMENT: ******* ROAD PARK
Potential hazards:
Crossing minor roads & walking along main road (babies in buggy, young children use walking reins on inside of path, older children hold hands on inside of path).
Safety of park equipment (check all equipment prior to children using it)
Animal faeces in park (check as far as possible, continue to be observant during visit)
Antisocial people/animals in park (leave immediately)
Stranger Danger – watch all children all of the time, do not leave them near strangers, teach older children about stranger danger in a way which will not frighten them).
Dogs on route (keep young children away, teach older children all dogs are not friendly)
Unexpected bad weather (take coats/waterproofs)
Muddy/Slippery when wet (wellies if possible, walk instead of running)
Other things to take into account:
Children/adult falling over / hurting themselves (First aid kit)
Emergency Contacts (mobile phone)
Children thirsty/hungry (take baby bottles/drinks and snacks)
Wet/muddy children (spare clothing if applicable)
Keep children warm/cool (ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather)
