Im planning a colour theme.

I have a 2 year old that loves to tell me the colours of cars as we walk along but Im also including a 16 and 19 month olds as well.

Im trying to keep it simple and cover all 6 aspects of learning and development.

So far I have Mixing paints and see whats colours are produced. CD

Looking at different colours on a walk eg. colours of cars, trees, flowers, sky. KUW
Making a collage out of different coloured materials CD

Dying pasta and making necklaces CD
Dying rice in different colours CD
Go to library and look for books on colours
Colour or pain rainbows CD

Look at colourful animals or flowers KUW

and then Ive come to a dead end. I dont know what to put visit to library under and how to include the others I missed.

Please help, also let me know if Ive done any of the above wrong.

Sorry, I was about to answer this earlier and got distracted by a phone call

Colour ... good stuff on here...

http://www.lethsd.ab.ca/mmh/grade1/colors/colors.htm

If you put 'red activities' into google, you get some hits... if you then put 'green activities' you will get more.

Also you'll get ideas for activities eg. 'red activities' comes back with 'The little red hen'; yellow activities might lead you all to use yellow paper, crayons, pencils, wrapping paper etc to decorate a submarine.

You can also link them with special occasions - this is not my idea, someone else came up with it...

So do St Patricks day with green, Halloween with black, arbor day (trees) with brown etc. :D

I will move you to 'activity ideas' where you might get more replies.
