Hi Everyone
I'm a new member and this is my first thread, so be gentle with me.:)
I'm trying to get my head around EYFS  and I have heard on the grapevine that we have to do a risk assesment everytime we go out, is this true?

So, if we are going to the park to feed the ducks for example, do we need to do a risk assesment?
Do we do one every time we go or one to cover all trips to the park to feed ducks?

Any input welcome, thanks.

You don't have to ask us to be gentle with you! We're all lovely on here and will answer all questions happily! Ha ha!

As I understand it you do one risk assessment for each place you go on outings to but this must be reviewed AT LEAST annually and whenever something changes that affects it. Like if there are new facilities suddenly available at your normal toddler group - you would have to add this to your risk assessment that you already have - review it. Or, if an accident happens you would have to review it then.

Does that make sense?

Welcome to the Forum by the way.

Thanks, I was in a panic that I would have to do one every time we went out!

I'd never get past my garden gate! LOL!!!

Ps-How do I get to the Hello section?
