I Know you are aloud 3 children under 5 but only one under 1, but am i aloud all three between 1 and 5, i don't have to have a 1 year old.

Also when a child turns 8 years old they are not counted in my ratios are they?

Sorry i know these are really silly questions:blush:

Thanks Kelly

The numbers will include any children of your own.

Normally a certificate will say something like:

no more than 3 children under the age of 5,
of which no more than 1 child can be under the age of 1

So you do not have to have a child under 1. as long as you have no more than 3 under 5.

Not a silly question. When I first started minding I only thought I could have 4 children total through out the week so when i got to 4 part-timers I stopped until someone pointed out to me that it was at any one time not total for the week:blush: We all have to learn ssomewhere:p

Just to add to what Julia said, it's all going to change on Sept 1st too when the two registers replace the one we are on now. That new one seems even more confusing, lol!

Here is the Ofsted information leaflet about the changes that are taking place to the registers after September.

Hope it helps! :D
