Measuring floor space

When you're measuring your floor space, do you count the space where your sofa is?

I haven't done before, but I read somewhere that you could, as obviously it's an area that children use to sit on.

I have limited space, especially since DH & DS have been working from home, so I check regularly that I have sufficient floor space in the areas I'm currently using.

I guess so!
I know when I had my first ever ofsted visit to approve me before I started minding, the inspector literally measured the length and width of my sitting room, ignoring the dining table and display unit!

Can’t help never had anything measured by Ofsted. But guess sofa area should be measured
