Good morning Thursday

Guess what...we're in the garden...and it's not raining :clapping::laughing:
It is freezing cold, but it's dry and we've actually got some blue sky and sunshine. The children are wrapped up warm, I've got my thermal socks on and a cup of coffee to drink while they're playing happily. It's been lovely to let them play on the slide and sit-in cars knowing they won't all end up with wet bottoms :thumbsup: We'll be going indoors soon for lunch, but it has been a lovely morning outside.

This afternoon we're going to do some baking. I sorted a kitchen cupboard out last night and found a packet of cookie mix. I don't even know where it came from but it's nearing its best before date so I thought we'd use it up today. I've got some Christmas cake decorations left over as well, so I'll see if thee children want to use those. I'm sure they will. They won't mind that it's not Christmas anymore!

Afternoon . We have been out most of the morning dry cold and very windy. Children enjoyed using the wind ribbons and generally being out doors. Are napping now wish I was!

Enjoy baking with the children mouse. Speaking of sprinkles, I could of used them in foam play earlier if I had my brain in gear.

Afternoon!

We wanted to go out this morning ... but it kept raining and sleeting!!! It looks like it has cleared up a bit now ... but 2 are asleep and 3rd is busy crumbling the playdough into tiny bits :rolleyes::laughing:!!! Got to do a school run later ... but not sure I'll trust it to stay dry!

We've done lots of sticking .... using all those random bits from the bottom of my collage box! :D also made frog hand puppets from a paper plate folded in half and eyes stuck on!

Also 'read' singing in the rain by Tim Hopgood .... absolutely gorgeous illustrations to look at whilst listening to a cd of Doris Day singing. ( the book is on YouTube too ) .. LOTS of singing and dancing!

Looclyoo I always want to buy that book whenever you mention it, but I'm being strict. For now..

We had snow last night and so we played out straight after breakfast. We made a mini snowman, I popped inside to get a carrot for the nose and when I got back to the snowman it was positively yellow against the gleaming white snow. A very satisfied puppy was trotting away. So, we had to make another one. We stuck in the nose only for the puppy to tug it out and eat it as soon as my back was turned. We dug in the snow and put some in a tray for the polar bears and then we got out the sledge. It was fantastic fun until mindee toppled out of it when we went around a bend a little too quickly. He didn't hurt himself but he wanted to come in after that.

He's now napping and I really wish I could go down for a nap. The house is such a mess with bits of craft activities, messy play and baking that we did this morning. Most of the time I tidy up as I go, but I haven't at all this morning.

I need to go to the post office after work. I don't feel comfortable taking mindee with me at the moment as there is always a big queue - you're never in and straight out. I'm so tired today though so it would have been lovely to get it out of the way during the working day.
