It’s my Friday day off and the same thing happens every week - I don’t set the alarm as I plan to have a lie in, but end up waking even earlier than ever
I’ve put the time to good use though and have updated my online food delivery for Monday. I will go to the supermarket myself to get some bits, but thought I’d have the basics and heavier stuff delivered. I can then just go in person to look for the nice Christmas treats :D

DH and I will have the house to ourselves today (very unusual since everyone started working from home) so we’re going to get all the Christmas presents out of their various hidey-holes and check what we’ve got and what we still need to get (hopefully not much!) If we’ve planned it properly, we’re only waiting for a couple of things to be delivered and will only need to buy a few sweets for stocking fillers. We’ll go and get the final bits on Monday evening and then that’s us done. We’re normally still dashing out on Christmas Eve, but we really shouldn’t need to do that this year :clapping:

Have schools near you finished now? Some of ours broke up yesterday but some are open till lunchtime today, although I know a lot of parents aren’t sending their children in. In a way it does seem daft sending them in just for a couple of hours, especially when they won’t be doing much.

Have good days everyone and, if you’ve got extra schoolies today, I hope it’s not too manic!

Have a good day Mouse .... Good luck with the wrapping! That has been my plan every evening this week .... hasn't happened! ... MUST do it tomorrow!

I've got one little one pottering around at the moment, another 4 due in a few minutes and then another schoolie at 9! I'd previously planned to go out all day today ... but weather isn't looking kind, although it isn't cold, and i just can't face it, so i've been prepping lots of crafts! Hopefully the older ones can do them without TOO much supervision!

most schools have closed today, although a couple are still open.

have fun, stay warm, safe & dry everyone xxx

DD finishes at 1 today. They are doing a secret santa in her class today. They had to take the presents in on Monday so that they could be quarantined before giving them out today.

My little one is as good as gold for me all day and then typically changes once mum arrives. His latest is to deliberately touch our outdoor light string on the wall. I can see it is about to happen way before it happens, and mum just stares lovingly at him until he does it. Why do they put us in an awkward position?

We've done a little bit of painting today and now mindee is in his element playing with real potatoes, carrots and a swede.

I've got a mum booked in for a first meeting tomorrow - but you know when you just have that gut feeling that they won't show up?

Mouse, enjoy your day off - in fact, enjoy your whole holiday!

Everyone else, we're nearly there!

4 hours to go not as I'm counting or anything

Our schools have closed but some local ones have stayed open.

I think I have all the presents brought and wrapped.

All we have to do is our normal food shop on Monday. Prep up some food bits and everything is sorted.

Dh is only off Christmas day and has very busy days next weekend. So we may have to change our normal food routine around.

Have a good day everyone

Hi it's been a crazy week here and am so glad its the weekend! Our workman phoned and said could they come Wednesday to start the little job we had arranged for next week which was a bit frustrating as DH was going to be here to deal with them next week but tis week I have less children so told them to go ahead. (We had some new windows and door fitted) I just left them to get on with while I kept out of the way with the little ones. Just need to put the house back in order where I had to move stuff out of the way at least it's done now and I can concentrate on getting ready for the big day next week. I am working Mon-Wed so need to try and keep everyone busy. as have a couple of older ones and then some of my little ones. I think the presents are all sorted just need to finish wrapping and we have food ordered just need to get some normal food shopping for the week which always seem to be a task in it's self near Christmas as the shops seem to be stocked with party platters and Christmas treats :). Anyway I am off to have a cuppa and chill out for a the evening.
