Happy Monday everyone.

I hope you all had a good weekend. What have you got planned for the week ahead?

I’m going to be working on Christmas crafts with the children. We’ll start with their present to take home to parents - a canvas picture. Plus we’ll have the Christmas playdough out every day. The children spend ages playing with it and I’m quite happy to join in. It’s very relaxing!

DH and I have been saying for weeks that we need to decided what we’re getting everyone for Christmas. We have bought a few bits already but need to sit and make a proper list. Then we’re going to have one trip to town and see what we can get. If it’s too busy we’ll come home and order everything online! I’ve seen the shops are going to be able to open longer hours but I’m not sure we’ll find any time when they’re quiet.

Today is my day off. ... I need to sort through the presents i have already bought/ordered to see what i have and what we still need to get!

I'm doing a training course later ( online ) about getting ready for your inspection ... Who knows when it will be? it SHOULD have been by July 2020 at the end of the cycle ... then Ofsted said all 'normal' inspections missed due to lockdown etc would happen from January 2021 ( with an educated guess of being done by July 2021 ) ... AND then, they change the goalposts to up to 6 years between inspections .... so in my case ... i could be waiting until April 2022 !!! anyway, no harm in getting prepared ... AGAIN! just a thought though ... does this mean that the inspection cycle has moved to 6 years rather than 4?

I'm also going to sort through my craft stuff and organise all the craft activities i want to do, into sets/bags/boxes, so i have it all prepared !!! HAHA! I can try !!!

Great idea about sorting your activity resources into bags loocyloo. I'm going to start cards tomorrow - it will need to be done in stages I think.

Update on DD's sprained ankle: She got ready for school this morning but then she couldn't get any shoes on (still swollen). She tried with and without her ankle brace and it was just too difficult/painful - so we've had to keep her off again. School is set up for home learning for any children who need to isolate, so she can access the work that the rest of the class are doing, which is good. We're trying to get her some crutches. Apparently we have to go back to a and e to ask for some so we'll go once mindee goes home at 4. DH is driving me mad because he keeps saying I should have asked for them at the time, but when you are caught up in the moment you just take the Drs advice that you are given at the time - he thought the ankle brace would be enough. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Where do you do your playdough Mouse? Do you do it at the big dining table or at a little table or other?

Such a cold, grey, wet Monday here but the little ones are a little bit excited as I have put some of our Christmas resources out so they are busy being Father Christmas. Its nice to have some different books to read, I probably won't be saying that in a couple of weeks when I have read Pip and Posy's Christmas Tree story for the hundredth time :laughing:

I need to make a batch of play dough.

I was thinking about making some salt dough decorations with the children but last time we did that they didn't quite work for some reason. I need to finalise my Christmas craft plans.

I went to do some shopping this morning I was in wilkos at 8.05 and was surprised how many other people were in there.

I got my jars from there and have made sweetcorn relish today.

I have not thought about Christmas activities yet. Mouse your Christmas playdough sounds lovely. Do you mind sharing how you made it

I’ve read it for the first time today and the children loved it. I don’t even remember buying it but found. It on the bookcase this morning 😀

I cheat and buy it from Etsy!

I have made my own before but it never lasted long. The stuff I buy from Etsy can easily last a year.

Where do you do your playdough Mouse? Do you do it at the big dining table or at a little table or other?

It depends which children are here. Sometimes I put the tuff spot on the floor and other times I use a Gopak folding table. It’s very versatile and one of my best buys.

It means no one should go more than 6 years, whereas with a 6 year inspection cycle you could technically go 12 years between inspections!
