Who watched it last night?

I think this is the first time I've seen a series from the beginning. I normally forget about it until it's half way through!

Did you see the programme that was on after it? About the adults learning to read and write? It was very good. I don't think I'd realised there were younger adults who couldn't read. I think I'd have assumed it was the older generation who struggled.

I watched the last bit .... seemed very advanced for week 1!

That programme sounds interesting Mouse...I might have to look for it. I had a young mum whose child was coming to me for funded sessions. A family support worker helped her arrange it and told me that mum struggled to read and write, so please would I read everything to her and write in everything for her.
Mum was severely dyslexic and as we got to know each other, she told me that she'd hardly gone to school as a teenager as lived rurally on a farm and no one made her go, which made me sad as she was so lovely and wanted to do her best. She was accessing reading and writing classes, and when her child left, she wrote me a card to say thank you. It meant so much to me.

Oh loocyloo that's a lovely story! I didn't see the programme but we watched Bake Off last night. It was lovely - a nice bit of light relief. We were laughing at the lady who won the technical challenge and she couldn't even feel happy because she felt so guilty about David's pineapple cakes! Her poor face. I quite like all the contestants this year. Matt Lucas was great wasn't he? I absolutely loved Sandi and was sad when she left, but the show has retained the same feel I think.

I was trying to think who my hero would be (show stopper) and I actually have no idea!
