Hello!

A late post today as I was too busy with a toddler to post this morning. My first day back has been lovely. The child came in without a moment's hesitation, as if she'd never been away. I was worried that I hadn't got enough toys out for her, but she's been busy all morning so it was obviously plenty to keep her occupied. She was like a little whirlwind all morning and is now flat out asleep...time for me to have a coffee and catch my breath :D

I hope everyone is having a good day. It seems strange to be working again after all this time. I'm suddenly seeing lots of jobs I want to get done but now won't have the time

Take care all :group hug:

Good afternoon it is good to have mindees here even if it is albeit for a few hours.

We set up an hairdressers salon for the my little little ponies got to admit I was quite jealous.

So the government has announced that they can not get all children back to school for primary school ages. Is anyone else not surprised or is it me bring cynical again

Mouse and Fussy, your mornings sound lovely!

I'm not surprised to be honest Fussy. Just the whole logistics of having the smaller class sizes - where are the actual rooms in which to put the children - where are the extra teachers etc. There aren't many weeks left before the summer holidays and so they are running out of time to get everyone in anyway.

For DD's birthday in November we got her a gift card for a local sewing/knitting shop. She has spent some of it but has £5.50 left on it. Anyway, the shop has announced that it is closing down permanently (as a result of not being able to open (lockdown) but still having to pay the rent). She is selling off a lot of her stock via facebook. After much deliberation, I politely asked (private message) if we could still use the gift card to put towards the cost of what we would buy. She didn't get back to me, so I asked her on the public forum under one of her posts (again, very politely). She didn't respond again. I have asked one more time and will be very disappointed if she doesn't reply. If she says no she absolutely cannot do it then fine, I will just accept it, but she is irking me by not getting back to me. I do understand how stressed she must be. I always went to her store as I like to support local business, despite the fact that there are cheaper stores with more stock in town, and despite the fact that none of us really liked going in her store because she has an 'off' manner about her. I have noticed that she immediately gets back to the customers who put in orders on her fb page. Oh well.

Enjoy the rest of your day with the mindees everyone.

I’m not surprised. Our school for 3 gates. So they have staggered drop offs/pick ups 10 mins apart. All in one gate and out either of the other 2 that go in different directions. So yesterday was I first school run and as I’m coming in the “in gate “ 4 mums are coming out! So that’s clearly not working as the same happened twice today!! Today the little one has done drawing and painting; nothing else!! The others I’ve had here have done a sports day, been for a walk. Played number bingo. Made Father’s Day cards and we sat and talked about what we did with our days when we all had to stay home
