Hi all

I am Ofsted registered both at home as a childminder and also as an out of school club that I run on non domestic premises. Due to low club numbers a couple of mornings I am going to do less than 2 hours childminding a day at home before school. Technically although I have one, I do not require my OFSTED registration. I am trying to establish whether I would still need to issue contracts and crucially if my insurance (I am a gold member) will still be valid? Thank you for your thoughts :)

I guess you need to speak to your insurance company and ask for their opinion - contracts are good practice but not a legal requirement (info on child record forms is though).

to check your insurance validity message childcare.co.uk/contact and ask the question...

I wouldn't give up a registration in case things change in the future - you never know! :D
