from 2018 data protection rules are changing!

You will find a FREE Information Guide about the changes from Childcare.co.uk - including a sample Privacy Notice which you should share with parents - Childminder Guides - Information & Resources for Registered Childminders - Childcare.co.uk (https://www.childcare.co.uk/childminderguides#ico/).

You can read more about the changes on the ICO website here - Data protection reform | ICO (https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-reform/).

Joy!

I haven't been able to read about changes yet as patchy wifi but read your other post. I just keep my paper copies of everything!

Although a childminder friend in another county was advised to scan everything, put it on a stick and then she didn't need to keep paper copies ... but I've got almost 15 yrs worth of stuff relating to alot of children ... I don't think there are enough hours to scan all that!

If we're talking security, why scan anything?

You can't hack paper.

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

After a long conversation with ICO today about different aspects of GDPR and how it will impact childminders I have spoken to the pre-school learning alliance (PLA - my member organisation) and asked them if they can support us.

There are some aspects of the changes that have yet to be decided and I think we need strong, professional help / representation so we don't lose out :D
