hi all

does anyone have a folder that they keep close by for ofsted which has everything in it rather than all over the place when they come to inspect, if so what do you have in it please.

I think I'd end up with a big folder of everything if I tried to do that!
Inspector can ask to see anything- learning journals, registers, CPPD log, all policies, permissions forms, training details, certificates, DBSs... and so on. There isn't really anything that wouldn't be in that folder! Even contracts can be checked to see if parental responsibility is recorded and to check if any doubt about ratios (to check which children are contracted to what hours/days). So I can't see any benefit in putting all those things together. You might want to list what you have got and where it is.

No I have my folders all on a shelf in the hall and when I was inspected in September I just showed the Inspector where they were so she could help herself.

I found it easier to have a few:

Admin folder which had....

Hygiene records
CRB
Driving Licence/MOT etc
HPA advice sheets
Data protection info..
Anything Admin like!

Policies folder.. just dedicated to those - I call it a parent pack
individual childs learning jouneys
Folder full of helpful things like obervation ideas, activities etc
Training folder

I think if you look through the EYFS, find out what they want and require from you and have a place for everything.

Hope that helps!!
