And there you are indeed City Childcare Childminder Agency...CA000012!!

as I said in previous comments you were on course to be registered as Agency No 12...you gave it away so easily!
So you got your safeguarding and other muddled up bits in place and passed your 'once over'?

6 agencies are now registered.... .all dressed up and nowhere to go with no Cms as yet on their books!
Wilshaw et al forgot you in his speech last week when he mentioned agencies

Huh? I am so confused. Is this a surprise? What's with the grand reveal? O_o

Am I the only one who read it like a superhero/villain revealing their alter ego?

But even when an agency is registered they still seem very secretive about who they actually are (although it doesn't take a genius to work out who Agency12 is) and what they're going to do. It's like the superhero revealing themselves, but keeping their mask on so you can't quite see who it is!

We have great big ta-da moments - here we are, another agency - yay! Then nothing. No website, no details, no way of finding out more.

Maybe I've solved the mystery of why agencies are such a flop. They won't tell you anything unless you join, but they won't tell you how to do that! There might be hundreds of childminders waiting to sign up with these secretive societies, but none of them are allowed in :ROFL1::ROFL1:

Can someone tell me or direct me to where I can read up about chilminding agencies. I am sure ill eventually discover it in my course notes, but in the meantime if anyone wants to enlighten me id be glad. I also noticed on the forum there is mention of independent childminders and I presume this I a one or the other choice

It is exactly the fact they are so 'secretive' that worries me and always has....I smell a huge rat!
....and no need to set up a website to advertise? only a few agencies have one...mmmm?
Wish we could have been a fly on the wall when they used to meet with DfE, Ofsted and 4 Children.

Considering the amount an agency has to spend and invest in to become registered, it beggars belief anyone wants to be an agency until this
ideology has been tried and tested?...or until they have a secure list of possible cms lining up as customers and ready to give up their registration?

The main reason for agencies was to 'increase' quality standards in childminding...well that has been thrown out of the window with the recent statistics and 84% of CMs actually Good/Outstanding...what can an agency teach CMs ?
Looks like to me agencies may well be 'head hunting' these high quality CMs
Also the amount they pay to apply is £220 I believe...not enough in my view to justify the cost of a registration visit, which I understand is a prolonged one....another big rat!

It is also very obvious that there are 12 'potential' agencies in the making...6 are now registered (be careful their registered address is not necessarily where they are operating from) and not in order by application....my local CMs agency is registered under No 10 but applied only a few months' ago.

I personally still think we need to be alert and not be fooled by little morsels of information such as Agency 12 is trying not to disclose...rather badly I believe....sorry Agency 12 but Cms deserve a bit more than what you offer....eventually the mask will be off!

I googled the address, it's the home of Mallards Wood Daycare Nursery, Woodford Green.
