I've heard of a couple who childmind being charged over £90 and many people being charged over £40. Mine was really good, he's nice and he just charged me £15 for one but then chrged me £35 for a different letter. He knew I was on benefit at the time so maybe felt sorry for me. As if they don't earn enough as it is!? It's daylight robbery!!!!

I cannot believe some of the amounts people have been charged for this, I paid £15 a year ago and I thought that was bad enough for 1 signature. I know most can claim it back through their start up grant but if you've been charged £95 that's a big chunk of your grant gone which could have been used to purchase important resources

I was really lucky cos my GP only charged a tenner to do mine. I think the over-inflated fees are disgusting.

I was told £20, then was called to pick up the form from the surgery and then told that it was not £20 (which I thought was reasonable) but £50.
So I too the form home an dthe £20 cheque only to find the doctor had filled in the form anyway, so after a bit of pushing from my friends on here, I sent it off without paying anything! haha

Mine was £74 and it took 3 months!!!!! I went down there one day as I'd absolutely had enough of waiting and being messed about..turned out they lost it and didn't bother to tell me! Then they amazingly found it while I was there, spent 5 minutes filling it in (Just 2 ticks and a signature), and still charged me full.

What a joke!!

But you can claim it back so don't worry

Jo xx:) :)

The highest I have heard of was £90, but some are free - its about time they put a cap on the fee as its not fair!

When I did mine they quoted me £10, then when I went to pick it up they just handed it to me and walked away without asking for any money so I walked away to.
