Hi.
Just wondered when everyone gives parents their invoice?
I ask for payment on or before the last day of the month so I try to give my invoices to parents a week before. However I am finding that they forget and I have to gently say on the last day of the month 'I did give your your invoice last week didn't I?

Mine go out around 24th to be paid on 1st month. I often find-carrying out my late payment charge helps!! Stick to your policies on payment x

I send invoices out a week before payment is due. Parents never 'forget' because they know I won't gently remind them (never been embarrassed to ask for payment you're due) and I'l slap the late payment charges on!

You'll probably find you parents don't actually forget, they just don't bother to remember because they know you'll remind them.

If I were you I would add a note on all invoices saying "To help those parents who forget to make their payment on time each month, I will start texting everyone a reminder 2 days before payment is due. I hope this will help everyone avoid late payment charges which will come into force from next month."

I send mine via e mail mid month. If it gets to the first I send a txt requesting payment. I am also not afraid to charge my late fees :-)

same here!

I have a couple of mums that have written invoices because they 'don't do email' !!! but they are given theirs midmonth too. I also remind all parents paying by vouchers that they need to activate the vouchers so that I am paid on the first of the month!

I send mine out mid month giving them 2 weeks to clear as vouchers can sometimes take at least 5 working days which if you've got a bank holiday in there, it will be late. I have a very strict policy on late payment of fees and it's also in the contracts. The first time I might give a polite reminder and tell them it's their responsibility to pay on time otherwise late payment fees will apply. My late payment fees are £5 per day. It normally only takes 1 polite reminder and they remember. The ones that didn't got the charge and it kicked their butts! They weren't late again!

I'm always behind with working out the bills - so I will work on them this afternoon while lo's having a nap and send home tonight, they are always great at paying and will authorise vouchers this evening. I charge a month in advance but wouldn't be so laid back if it was in arrears.

I send mine anytime after the 20th of each month to be paid by 1st of the following month. if the money isn't there by the end of the 1st I am sending a polite email saying "there seems to be a problem with your payment, could you please check with your back to confirm that money has been sent"

Great line - one of my favourites! Always works for me.
