Hi.

I just wondered what others do with regards to fees and charging hourly?
My fees are £4.50 per hour, how ever I have a possible new starter who would be doin after school 3pm-5:15/5:20pm ish. Would you just charge till 5:30 and say you only charge in half hours or tally it up over the week/month?

Help

Thanks

Yes, I would do it to the nearest half hour, or a fixed 'after school' rate.

I agree with Moggy ... I only work in half hours!

an afterschool rate might be easier, but then you might find child staying till the end of the 'session' because they've paid for it! although, to be fair, that's what seems to happen to my half hours! - they end up being used!

I charge a session rate for before/after school - 8am - 9am, then 3pm - 6pm at a higher rate (£5), I include an after school snack and an evening meal and all my after schoolies are gone by about half 5

Normal hours I charge by the hour 'or part thereof', so no, I don't do half hour charges.
I state the required hours on the contract, charge for complete hours, but, if a parent is then later than their contracted time, I don't then go and charge a late fee.
If I'm being paid till 6pm, I'm happy to work till 6pm.
As the children have normally all gone by half 5 then I spend the next 30 mins doing work related 'stuff' (hoovering/steam mopping, preparing for the next day, paperwork etc)
