insurance info for pre-reg

I'm sure I read on here that I need to have insurance info ready for ofsted on the day of the visit, is this true? I know they only "reccomend" you but also heard they want you to have insurance before they leave.

I had my registration visit on Tuesday (10th Feb) my ofsted inspector just asked me who I planned to have my insurance with - Morton Michel. I hope this is helpful

Look at it the other way.

No insurer will insure you to mind children until you are registered as a childminder.

So, no, Ofsted cannot reasonably expect you to have insurance in place at the time of the pre-reg inspection.
