Thinking ahead to April when my DS turns 16. I'm right in thinking that he will need a DBS check wont he?

So, do I get it before he turns 16 (Feb...ish) or wait until he is 16 and then apply?

Thanks in advance. :D

with the old crbs you couldn't apply before they turned 16 - I presume its still the same.

My son turned 16 in July and I received a letter from Ofsted about a week after his birthday. From what I can remember you need to wait until you receive that letter before you apply.

What you can do in the meantime is make sure you have sufficient ID for him. We used a bank statement, his birth certificate and a letter from school. It might be worth looking to see what ID you will need and making sure you've got it all ready
