Hello All,

In the EYFS it states that we must have emergency contact details for parents/carers. Does that mean besides the parents/carers own and work contact numbers, to have a granny, friend, aunt's telephone number as well?

Just wondering as if not able to get through to parents then who to call?

Many thanks

Yes, I do same and try to get someone local as 'granny on the other side of the country' is not much use if I need child collecting now!

if parents say there is no one local ... then I find saying that I would have to call social services usually focuses the mind on a friend or neighbour! ;)

Thank you for all your replies. Loocyloo I think yours is a good one as many of my parents do not have any family nearby or even in the country and always try to wiggle out and this should work.:)

Many thanks again all.
