Ad-hoc Childcare Contract and Deposit

In regards to an ad-hoc contract and deposit do you have a minimum amount?

For adhoc care I don't ask for a deposit but I ask for payment before care (usually payment when booking) and charge a higher hourly rate.

Thank you AliceK for your response. I had not thought about charging a higher fee. Payment in advance is good so as to avoid bad debt.

All my children whether adhoc or contracted have to pay in advance, no payment = no care. I don't mind whether they pay weekly or monthly but everyone has to pay before any care is given. Usually if it's adhoc, if I don't know the parent then I tell them to pay the fee before I will confirm the space is allocated to them. For my regular adhoc parents I don't mind if they bring the money at drop-off.
