ratios- help!!

Can someone please help me with my ratios- I have full room space for 6 (I know that much!) and have my own little girl who is 10 months old. I also have a 17th month old starting on Monday.
I have had an enquiry from someone wanting me to look after their 4 year old (just started school last week- turns 5 next 4th Aug) for a couple of hours after school- but I'm wondering if he would count as one of my 3 under 5? or is it 3 under school age? Or is is 3 under 4? I'm so confused (and new to this- does it show!?)- please advise me as I'm concerned that if i take this little boy on for a few hours a day, it will overlap with some of my other younger ones and will take up one of my early years spaces?

It depends on,whether the school aged child is in full time education or not, I.e. For five mornings and five afternoons a week, or still going part-time. If he is full-time school then he is a 'rising five' so is out of your EY ratios. If he is still part-time then he is counted as early years until he does go full time.

Read EYFS 2014 Section 3.42-

Children age 4 or 5...before/after normal school day... can be cared for at the same time as 3 other young children.
They do count as one of your 6 under 8 years.

That used to be how we described it... but actually looking at EYFS 2014 wording it say 'before/after a normal school day'. But I think most people would understand that to mean full 5 days a week.
