Hi, I have just started childiminding, and have had a mindee for a couple of weeks now, does anyone have ideas what to put on a Settling in questionaire for parents to complete?

Thanks

What do you mean by this please?

I do an All About Me form for each new parent to complete and then I can plan for the child by their interests at home.

If you are starting settling-in that means you have agreed to care for the child and have a contract in place already?
If you intend to settle the child in and mum leaves him/her in your charge you need a contract in place so you are covered

Do you have a 'parents information pack'? that is the tool you need to make sure the parents know all about your setting, ethos, policies and have the opportunity to ask any questions for clarification...settling in is really like a hand-over with the child starting to form attachment with you

Does this help?

I have a settling in questionnaire - There is one in the Free Resources that Sarah Neville has written (sorry I don't know how to attach the link).

It has the following questions:

Are you happy with our settling in procedures for your child?

We have her starting points which we have sent to you by email. Do you have any concerns?

Are you happy with the way we are communicating with you?

For your child's next steps we are ........ Are there any other areas of learning and development you would like us to focus on over the coming weeks?

We are focussing on observing your child's learning characteristics - the way she learns - so we can enhance her learning experience. Do you have any thoughts about this?

Is there anything further you want to share with us?

Hope this helps xx
