Hi I am just re writing my permission forms and I am looking at the childminding . co.uk info and re writing them to suit my setting.

I see on the Outings in vehicles it states

childminders are required to buy class 1 business insurance , I do not drive myself but I do take minded children in the family car with parents signed permission, my husband has informed the insurance company that he uses that he transports minded children in the car, but does not have this in writing.

what is the difference between class 1 and business , and also is it marked on the insurance policy that you transport children

thanks
ziller

Im with direct line and they include class 1 business use as standard although I still called to check it was right for childminding! No mention of it on certificate or that I'm transporting children, just call insurance company and see if it's included or you need to upgrade

My insurance is through Churchill and they know I am a childminder and that I carry children in the vehicle. All my certificate says is both me and DH are covered for business use relating to the businesses of either person.
