Hello. It would be great to get some advice. Basically I was a registered childminder in 2011-2012 and I then began work in a nursery so I stopped my registration. I now want to return to childminding as this is my calling. Can i? How do I go about it when ive been there before.
Please help. Thank you!

You would have to start from scratch I believe

Start from scratch, yes, but you may find you have relevant qualifications you can re-use: first aid? did you do CYPOP5? Speak to Ofsted, speak to your LA and go from there. Worth asking Ofsted if your DBS is still valid. Have your old Ofsted registration number handy when you speak to them. I hope you find an easy way to get registered again.

Thank you. I don't mind starting again so long as I can get back into it. Missed it so much!

I got my level 3 in 2011 and did cypop 5 when childminding.
Does the level 3 still stand? Or do any of the qualifications expire?
Thanks

I don't believe that there is an expiry date - once you have a level 3 you always do.

If you are re applying do it quick! As of September you need a GCSE in English and Maths before applying. You also need to compltete your local course (your LA might let you use the old one but it has changed), first aid and health checks done before you can apply

I have a GCSE in maths and English that I got back in 2006 leaving school. Do you mean you have to re-do the 2 GCSEs??

No, once you have your GCSEs you have them for life. Same with a Level 3, A-levels, degree etc There is no expiry date on these qualifications.
