Grand daughter

Not really sure where to post this, I need some virtual hugs please, been at hospital all day with grand daughter and mum, baby has been rushed in with suspected meningitis this morning, very off it , rash which doesn't disappear. She is on anti biotics and being monitored every hour although she is not in intensive care. First blood results back later this afternoon and they are looking clear although the main tests will take 48 hours to be confirmed or not. Dr said that the next 24 hours will be crucial.
Baby is feeding okay and her obs are getting better so hopefully it is only a virus and that she will be okay.
She is four weeks old tomorrow and hasn't even reached her proper birth date yet and yet she seems to have had ups and downs a lot, I know this is normal for some babies but it is still worrying isn't it. I have had to come home to pick mum's other two children up from school and hope to go back later. I will keep you all up to date as soon as I can, but I know you will all understand and understand my needs to talk about this.

Oh poor you and your family. I was watching something on TV about preemies this morning and the nurses were saying that even though they are small it's amazing how resilient they can be. Sending you love and strength. xxx

She is trying so hard to get better, we are waiting on the results of some more tests, she is responding well to the antibiotics and has had one type stopped.
She is feeding better so things might be on the way up for her, it is going to be a long 36 hrs though waiting for the results.
Thank you all for you very kind words, I have told Mum and Dad they have both asked me to thank you and know that all of our thoughts and prayers together will bring her through this.
