I'm trying to get the ball rolling on our dbs checks. The capita page says:

"You should have received correspondence asking you to contact Capita in order to proceed with your Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) application. If you have not received any correspondence, do not proceed any further with Capita."

Who should I receive correspondence from and how do they know I need it? ?

I just went to the ofsted site and clicked to link for dbs checks.

I don't think you can just apply for a DBS check - you have to be told to do it by Ofsted x

I thought I needed my DBS before starting to apply to ofsted? Very confused.

Yes, don't worry, you've done it right. You don't need any correspondence from Ofsted prior to applying for your DBS.

I'm going through the registration process at the minute so if there is anything else you need help with let me know x

Thanks again Vikki. I've found a blog page from our county childminder support with the organisational references on, and they are the same as in the Ofsted guide to registration. So I can stop going round and round in circles (for now.....) :)
