Insurance renewal

My insurance is due for renewal just after the end of this tax year. If I pay it before 5th April, does it go in this years accounts or next (as it relates to that year). I'm thinking the former but not sure.

Expenses are claimed for in the financial year they are made.
It doesn't matter if the insurance starts the following tax year :thumbsup:
