This evening sat at the dinner table, my 30month old said, (drinking) "water comes from rain". I was amazed. He went on to say that it trickles down mountains and people get the water and make it clean for us to drink!! He is showing great understanding and must have had conversation with someone about this at the weekend...any ideas on how to extend this learning and incorporate in my planning somehow? Xx

wow. clever LO.

I've just picked up a lovely book from lidl called 'The little raindrop' by Joanna Gray. it tells the story of a little raindrop falling to the ground and follows the water cycle. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Raindrop-Joanna-Gray/dp/1628738219/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394476992&sr=1-1&keywords=the+little+raindrop ( but was £1.49 in lidl! )

not sure how you could extend it though! maybe water play and cycles through tubes and pipes? could you get muddy water and pour it through a sieve to get bits out?
