Could I just ask what everyone's procedure is when admitting children for instance waiting lists, siblings, deposits.

Also I need some advice on the amount of sessions and how they are organised iv tried to come up with something but I think I'm over thinking about it. My opening times are from 6am to cater for those on shift work I'm not sure weather to do a session before school like a breakfast club but then there's unsociable hours, pick up's and drop off's ooh eck please help :panic: xx

I wprk purely on 1st come 1st served. I do have a waiti g list at the moment and when a space comes up I will work from tue 1st to have their name written on the list.
I don't do sessions, It's just by the hour. I occasionally work form 6am but because I dont really want to do it I have opening times of 8am -6pm any hours either side are charged at double.

This is from my admissions procedure:-

"Matters taken into account in deciding which children can be offered a place at my setting:
 * Availability of spaces according to the registration requirements.
 * Age of child according to the registration requirements.
 * How long a child may have been waiting for a place.
 * Ability to accommodate siblings.
 * Number of spaces available in my car"

I also have a waiting list and work on 1st come 1st served - I have a parent waiting for spaces I have coming available in July, she will have 1st option closer to the time even if other enquiries come in.

With siblings it would depend if enough spaces were available.

Spaces in car is because I have to drive everywhere as live on busy road with no footpath:(

If several people came to visit for a vacancy then it would be first with deposit that secures the space (providing we clicked) - I would be honest with parents and say more than one family was visiting.

I don't do sessions either just hourly rate. I have had 6 am starters but they have been pre-school age so do free play if they are awake. I have no before school children.

I charge one rate for my core hours per hour and then an enhanced rate before 7.30 and after 6 pm.

I tell parents that I charge contracted hours for each day even if they use less and I charge from the time they arrive (if before contracted hours) to the time they leave (if after contracted hours)

Thank you!!!:)

I am going to go for the hourly rate too in stead of sessions.

What about frequent absences?

I charge the contracted fee for every day that I am open whether the child comes for the whole time, part of the time or not at all. I do not charge for my time off. I tell parents that they are paying to secure a childcare space and not for my time.

What do you mean by frequent absence?

Both myself and parents can take 4 weeks per year holiday at 1/2 fees. Anything over 4 weeks for them is full fee anything over 4 weeks taken by me is free to them.
If the child is ill I charge full fee for the days they don't come. If I am ill or have to close for any reason I don't charge.
