I had quite forgotten how much I enjoy a good ice hockey match.

And we have won a bronze medal - not sure in what event.

My ds 6 is asking how you protect your "nuts" in ice hockey mmm not sure he is understanding the use of a "box":laughing::laughing::laughing:

Hockey is great: excitement, passion, skill and drama. Just haven't figured out what they use that puck-thing for.

The Winter Olympics is just one big trip down Memory Lane. It's like the IOC have put together all the sports that GB is still cr4p at, and we can remember the good ol' days when we weren't blowing all the lottery funding on pampered prima-donnas. :D

I watched the ladies snow boarding earlier ... That's what we got a bronze for ... First medal from snow in the winter Olympics ever!

It was pretty amazing, they were doing all sorts of tricks, jumps etc.

I watched the Womens snowboarding it was fab, so tense waiting to see if we get a medal, such a shame some of the ones after our girl fell over:rolleyes: it meant they couldn't beat her. Waiting for the Rugby now all those muscles

Both my children who hate any sport (except crazy golf) have been glued to the winter Olympics all day.

Apparently it is not 'real sport' because people keep falling over and hurting themselves and that's funny. I do worry about my children.

I love it. Especially the snowboarding and skating. Not so keen on the hockey.

It's a small world

We are doing winter olympic theme we have all picked out countries from a hat ( mindees and parents ) . We each have a medal chart for our country so we can mark down how many gold, silver and bronze medals we have . Then the top three countries with the most medals win a small prize . we are also attempting our own version of some of the events so tv will be on for that event to show mindees then we will do our own version. We have bobsleigh ( marbles down tubes , curling- rolling balls onto a target , figure skating manoeuvring around obstacles without knocking them over to name a few. I'm enjoying the speed skating and snowboarding . Xx

I'm now following the Swedish women's hockey team intently: purely cos I'm waiting for a commentator to slip up in the pronunciation of their goalscorer: Asserholt. :D

My old sports master told our rugby squad that the best way to protect your 'nuts' was to get to the other guy's first. ;)

My little bruiser may consider it a really good idea and I don't want him trying the tactis out on A> his older brother B>His classmates C> the next time he plays football on the opposition :-)
