My EY advisor said to avoid registering with the ICO it was easier to get a pogo printer. Do I really need this or can I just connect my phone using blue tooth direct to my home printer?

'I’m a childminder - why do I have to register?
The Data Protection Act requires all businesses to register unless exempt. If you are processing personal information electronically for the provision of childcare - including taking photographs of the children in your care using a digital camera - then you must register with us.' ICO qoute

So if you use a digital camera or phone you have to register. If you have a camera with film - that's the only camera you will get away with without registering.

Better safe than sorry - for £35

You are still storing information digitally - as soon as you take a photo on a camera or phone you are storing information even if for only a short time.

Sorry but your EY advisor is wrongly advising you. You need to register x
