I need to update my software so that I can run a bespoke programme, purely for the business. Do you think I could put this through as an expense? I'm thinking of going to the Microsoft thingy where you pay annually but get all the updates?

Any views gratefully received, I really only need Access.

Cheers,

If you have chikdren at school there was a website where you put in your children's school and got it at a discount, have a google search, can't remember the name or even k ow if it's still running but worth a try. Think this is it Frequently Asked Questions - Software4Students (http://www.software4students.co.uk/faq)

Interesting idea on here High School Student Microsoft Discount? - Yahoo Answers (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110309191220AAQETOs)

If you use it for the business and you would not buy it unless it was for the business then it is normally acceptable to put through the percentage you use it for business use...

Is that what you mean? :D

Thanks both, the access bit would be solely for the business, yes, the rest would be used a bit by the family but again mostly be me printing off stuff that's business related!
The links look interesting thank you, I'll wind up the computer layer and investigate properly!
Aargh, it's complicated isn't it!
