My husband is going to become my assistant and I know we need to complete an EY2 form and he will need to complete a first aid course. Is there anything else? Do Ofsted visit? If not, how do they know what to increase your numbers by or if at all? Any advice gratefully received.

Hiya,
You will need to make sure you have employers liability insurance in place (think it is £5 from PACEY to send certificate if you are registered with them).

Also, you need to work out how much space you have available for the children, as this will determine how many mindees you can have. See the EYFS for the floor space requirements.

Once he has completed first aid certificate, you will need to get written permission from parents to be able to leave him unsupervised with the children (only up to 2 hours per day)

Hope that helps,
Zoe.

You also need to do an induction with him and somehow prove that it is done about EYFS and Safeguarding as he will be questioned at inspection
